“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.”

-Brené Brown

You’re here!

I’m so glad you made it. You’ve already made a huge step towards healing just by finding this page. I know how hard it can be to find a therapist who meets all (or even most of) your criteria, and I’m just appreciative you landed here.

What Can I Do For You?

I provide a safe, warm, judgement-free, and highly empathetic space for you to process your life. You know much more about yourself than I ever will, so my job is to help you access the tools and knowledge you innately possess, rather than telling you how to live your life.

Change occurs when you are able to be “congruent,” which means that your outward behaviors match your internal thoughts and emotions. In order to help with this, I use several therapeutic techniques depending on the situation, including self-compassion, mindfulness, active listening, grounding, curiosity and humor. I come from a secular therapist lens, which means I will not impose any religious values on you, and I can help you access your own spirituality in which ever way feels most supportive to you.

  • Who are you?

My clients are adults, teens, couples and families, with concerns ranging from anxiety and depression to trauma, stress, and family conflict.

I specialize in working with religious trauma and cult recovery and the residual effects of growing up with a rigid belief system.

You must have a permanent address in the state of Texas for us to work together.

  • Who am I?

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Austin, Texas, and I work at Austin Family Counseling, a private group practice for therapists.

I received my Masters degree from Texas State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona in Middle East and North African Studies.

Outside of work, I make music and photographs, play basketball, listen to podcasts, read fantasy books, and watch TV shows and movies.

  • How Did I Get Here?

I grew up the youngest of 4 children in El Paso, Texas. I lived in Jerusalem, Israel and Tucson, Arizona before returning to Texas. I moved to Austin to explore and enjoy the “live music capitol of the world.”

I worked my way through several different careers until I finally found one I was passionate about: mental health counseling. I had (and have) greatly benefitted from my own experience in therapy, and I wanted to help others who may be struggling. Being a therapist is the most meaningful and rewarding work I’ve ever considered.
